For the second year in a row we found ourselves supporting the Colfax
Persimmon Festival on the 5th of November. For a detailed discussion
on this event pick up a November 2011 copy of the Magazine "Our State."
My mom who was last year's queen has her photo from last year in this
edition.
The crowd was quite large since the Magazine had come out early the week of
the festival. SGT John Horvath, SGT Jim Lankford and I attended.
People ask a lot of question, many focused around the
"caisson" the name many gave to the Limber.
Hit either of these links and they will take you to our horses and
equipment. Photos of both the caisson and limber are available
here.
Leaving was a challenge when the dually started to spin I had to get a Chevy
truck to pull my Ford out of the mud. After hooking the limber
up to the dually and the gun to the limber we headed to my mom's home to put
the equipment in the dry. The gentleman who had helped us getting out
followed us home with his flashers going to make sure we had a safe trip. |
